HOYT ARBORETUM WEDDING

We absolutely love the understated elegance of a simple wedding - beautiful bridal and a floral arch - the two wedding necessities! We were ecstatic to learn that this event would be photographed by the talented Alixann Loosle. If you’ve cruised around our site enough, you’ve encountered a lot of her work and perhaps even read about her when she was featured in our Portland Vendor Guide. She was the perfect fit for capturing this intimate wedding on the grounds of Portland’s treasured Hoyt Arboretum.

Not only was this bride doing it right with an secluded gathering in a majestic forest, but she formulated a really unique vision for her color palette. She wanted to somehow incorporate burgundy, yellows, and white. Right off the bat this was hard to visualize but as we played with the palette and added some creamy neutrals, softer ivory tones and springy greens, it quickly won us over. It’s amazing how a floral palette routinely considered to be autumnal in spirit can be refreshingly transformed with the addition of fresh, delicate white blooms and chartreuse tendrils. We hope you that you enjoy the images of this classic and romantic Pacific Northwestern wedding celebration amongst the Redwoods!
